The Sinks
Driving
The easiest way to get to The Sinks is to use Google Maps and search for "George Hellmuth Lower Lake." This will take you to Joe and Mary's "Barn" house, where you can get further directions if you aren't sure how to get to your destination.
From St. Louis, it's about a 2.5 hour drive to The Sinks area, if you are coming from the West (Springfield, MO) you should allot about 3 hours.
There are a few ways to drive to The Sinks from St. Louis, the map directions will likely route you through St. James to Salem. That route tends to be faster, but it's also windier. If you prefer a straighter path, that only adds a few more minutes, continue on I-44 to Rolla (pass the St. James exit). Your map will automatically update to route you through Rolla.
We recommend stopping for gas (and ice/beer/cold items) in Salem (or Eminence if coming from the South), it's not convenient to get gas once you're down on the property.
Here's a map of the property, Sinks Map.
Traveling by Plane
St. Louis (STL) is the closest airport (about 2.5 hours away). If you're planning to fly to STL you will either need to rent a car, or arrange for a lift to/fro The Sinks.
Lots of folks will be going back and forth this week, so it might be possible to hitch a ride. Just reach out and we will try to help you coordinate, if needed.
Springfield/Branson Airport (SGF) is also an option, depending on your preferred airline.
If you are renting a car at either location, keep in mind the Farm roads are gravel and can be "adventurous!" SUVs, trucks, and all-wheel drive vehicles work best.
